Pretty damn epic, the ending kinda fell apart on me, What with Alister going off in a huff after I tried to get him married off, and Zevran foolishly siding with the Antivan Crows again, which lead to his near instant decapitation by the other rogue in my party. I let morrigan have her devil baby and went onto giving the Wardens a big boost.

Not much else going on, back to work tomorrow, oh well.

More and more riding

Since my bike is now fully repaired, I took it for a ride! Up the hill then across then down through the park, found the old rainforest walk is still open, that was around when I was at High School. Then went further down to cabarita (stopping for a gelati on the way), then out along a bunch of firetrails to see what was out there. The first meandered past a banana plantation, and looked like it kept going quite a way, I got to a ridge and went eh, might go back later, so then I went across the road and had two paths to choose from... the lower path ended up leading to a bunch of bee-hives, and a cool rockface thing, I followed a shitty track (clambering up rocks with my bike pretty much, and joined the other path up the top, that one looked like it went on back down the ridgeline, but the path wasn't that clear so I went down the disturbingly steep hill, taking it reaal slow, which was difficult due to the undervegitation making things slippery.
Then I went back towards cabarita, thought "hey I can follow that trail up the hill" BIG MISTAKE
God, I went off the side of this road and I had to walk my bike up this horrible, ash-strewn fire trail that was ridiculously rocky and crap, I thought "once I get up top surely there'll be a better way down, but nope, I got up top and my choices were tracks heading the way I just came, or back down the hill. I went back down the hill but man it was too nasty to ride on my bike, I rode a little, but it was just too rough. Anyhow, once back on the road I had the brilliant idea of continuing down to hastings point, so I did that following the cycleway, stopped for an icecream at hastings point, then headed back. I thin realised that I had made a mistake, as my energy level went ffft in the face of a headwind. It was bad on the way back, but by the time I got to kingscliff my legs could barely pedal, I had to walk my bike up the hills I'd usually ride, and crawlled back home very slowly. Plus my water ran out, which sucked, though I'd managed to drain a 3L camelbak in the process.
I am now totally buggered, plus my arms got sunburnt where I guess the sunscreen rubbed off on my gloves? Also everything is covered in ash and soot, blech.
Total KM's would probably be around 40, I think, looking at a map/pedometer online (no computer on the new bike). I think I might go to bed and see if I can keep this minor headache from turning into a major one.
Also it's raining, which is fantastic, the ground was still hot where the fire went through, hopefully this will cool it down, also cool me down and water the poor old plants around the place.

30km this afternoon on the bike, making for 100km since Saturday, which is probably the most I've ridden across five days. Still have some numbness in my hand which is annoying, I adjusted my seat position to be a bit more flat to try and take the pressure off, moving my riding position a bit back, but that just gave me plumbers crack & a numb dilz instead. Thought I only adjusted it a notch, but I'll see if there's an in-between I can set it too. Tonnes of birds this afternoon, I must have seen a dozen bush turkeys (a lot of juveniles too, must have finished the breeding season), flocks of galahs, white cockatoos and even a flock of black cockatoos, those guys are huge. Also a single swamp pheasant and the usual bunch of rabbits.
Came home and ended up doing phone tech support for the neighbour, probably a dud driver fixed by a system restore, either that or a virus, got him to update AVG and run a scan in case.
I did also get a call yesterday from the mob I ordered the new bike from, he said he was able to chase one down by pulling in a few favours, so I should have it by the weekend. Now I just gotta find some bush tracks around here (since I don't want to have to go to Nerang State Forest / Nightcap National Park every weekend).
Overall I think I am seeing improvements in my riding, I don't have to dismount anywhere on my route to get up hills like I used to, and bits where I was totally buggered before I recover a lot quicker from. Still don't have the hang of standing up to power on, I kinda scrunch up or something in the wrong position I think, and my legs just go ~fffft~.
Oh well.
